The Nature Trust was started in 1997 by KVRK Thirunaranan, along with a small group of like minded activists with an objective to Conserve Nature and Natural Resources. We at Nature Trust strongly believe that creating the right kind of awarness to children is the only means to protect the environment. As part of this we conduct awareness programs and Enviromnent Education to children in the downtrodden areas of chennai. We studied the Indian Great Horned Owl's behavioural and breeding patterns in the Nanmangalam Reserve Forest and found the habitat very favourable the survival and growth of the endangered spieces. We did a study on the Indian Gaur in the Upper Palani hills (Mannavanur, Keelanavayal and Kookal). We are working closely with the Forest Department in conserving the wetland in the urban and sub-urban chennai. We worked on creating awarness to people in Keelanavayal on how to avoid man-Gaur conflict. |
